DR HILLAR ADDO
Dr. Hillar Addo is Ghanaian by birth but was educated, worked and lived in the Southern African region (South Africa) for the last 13 years. A teacher by Profession, Hillar has a PhD in Information Science from the University of Pretoria
Dr. Addo is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Open University Programs at Accra Instuite of Technology (AIT) and founder of Computer For Education and Development (CFED). CFED's mission is to provide the Ghanaian child with ICT learning opportunity to compete in the globalizing workplace .


INTRODUCTION
Computer for Education and Development is a Non Governmental Organization ((NGO) established to compliment government’s efforts at providing the Ghanaian child with ICTs to be a global competitive participant

AIM
Our aim is to establish a social business that provides sustained computer infrastructure and support to educational institutions and the non profit sector in Ghana.

VISION
The vision of CFED is to support digitizing Education for Development.

MISSION
The mission of (CFED) is to catalyze government’s efforts at providing the Ghanaian Child with information and communication (ICT) opportunities to be a global competitive participant.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of CFED are to:

  • Provide computers to educational institutions and the development sector in Ghana, and support sustained use
  • Facilitate technical infrastructure provision for productive use of computers
  • Provide training and capacity support to users in schools
  • Provide software and content support
  • Facilitate Internet connectivity, e-learning, monitoring and evaluation services; and
  • Provide research in ICT for Education development support.
